Where was the dip? She could still feel the path even as she struggled through the undergrowth. She must be close.
She tripped, loud and unmistakable, smashing into the ground. He was on her instantly, shining a torch straight in her eyes, unbearably bright.
The knife slipped right in, slicing through layers of cotton-polyester, hot and easy. The man gave a little oof of surprise. She pushed up, pulled him close, the blood gushing freely, draining so fast, faster than she could believe. He was starting to struggle, trying to pull away, trying to fight. His hand scrabbled at her neck, squeezing weakly. She wrenched the handle around. The red was staining through his uniform now, catching the light of the dropped torch as it splattered across high-visibility strips in the darkness.
‘You.’
He said it weakly, his grasp already limp, his eyes already fading. She smiled and pulled the gold shield from his shirt, tucking it into her pocket. He’d done well to get so close. He deserved the best she could give him.
The symbols ran through her mind again. Redemption. Release. Freedom. And she began to carve.

It's hard to pick a favourite track. This is the only album i have so far deemed as "perfect", where every track, even the intro, is just a masterpiece in its own right. From the hard hitting Perturbator's Theme to the emotional title track, its 68 minutes of perfection. 10/10. connivingkhajiit
